Building Dream Communities for Adults with ASD: Six Videos

Topic: Many parents of children substantially affected by autism/DD dream of joining with other parents to create mini residential communities with enriching activities, outdoor space (for swimming, swinging, jumping, running), a cheerful and safe built environment, plenty of supervision from well trained and caring staff, and a location within easy distance of family, day programs, supported employment, and community activities. This workshop is for parents and professionals who want to take an active role in developing such mini-communities. Financial (both privately funded and nonprofit/charitable models), development, and operational aspects were discussed.
