The Lanterman Coalition’s campaign to stop the crumbling of California’s community services for people with developmental disabilities is off to a great start. The coordinated advocacy of people like you all over the state and people like us in the Capitol has got the Legislature’s attention.
Now it’s time for the next step – to start to nail down the support of the key decision makers, who are sympathetic but haven’t made any commitments yet. That’s got to start with Senator Holly Mitchell, who chairs the state Senate’s key budget subcommittee.
Please take 20 seconds to send Senator Mitchell an email.
It’s simple, but fantastically important. It might not be any exaggeration to say that the survival of our community services and supports system depends on it. Please do it now.
And thank you for your advocacy.
Greg
PS. And please forward thus Action Alert to everyone you know who might be willing to take the same 20 you do. We need to show our community’s unity and strength.
