Where: The event takes place at the beautiful, state-of-the-art Li Ka Shing Center, 291 Campus Drive, Stanford University, near the Medical Center. Please note that parking is located about 10 minutes from the Center, in lot L18 off Welch Road (parking is free at Stanford on Saturdays). Handicap spots are available in front of LKS, off Campus Drive. Registrants will receive detailed information before the event. Who is the target audience? This event is aimed at the pragmatic informational needs of parents, caregivers and professionals who have the responsibility to support and help make plans for teens and adults with autism or related developmental disabilities. For conferences aimed at self-advocates we recommend the events sponsored by AASCEND.org in San Francisco and by SCDD around the Bay Area, as well as many others. Give the strict time limitations of this conference, it does not have the flexibility to address the needs of all audiences. What's the conference like? Mainstage sessions in the large conference room, with breakouts in the classrooms and lecture halls within the building. The day is packed with information, and also features information tables hosted by sponsors. Coffee and bag lunch are provided for full-day ticket holders. For archives of past conferences see here. PDF of draft program here (16-page PDF with empty centerfold) Consolidated Session 1 and 2 Slides: Housing, What Parents Need to Know; and Hot Topics, Flash Talks Will it be taped? For the most part, no. However, selected mainstage sessions may be recorded and available for viewing following the event. This year's event will not be live-streamed. Cost? Full-day tickets (8.15am-5pm) are $75 and include coffee/pastries/fruit and lunch; Afternoon passes (1-5pm) are $35 and include coffee. No ticket sales at the door, pre-registration is required. Will it sell out? All five of our past SFASA conferences have sold out. Please don't wait until the last minute. [This conference is now sold out, waitlist is forming.] What time should I arrive? If you registered for the full day please arrive between 8.15-8.45am for registration. If you registered for the afternoon pass, please arrive around 1pm. Either way, please allow 10 minutes to park and walk from the lot to the LKS building (see map below). What should I bring? An ID for registration, paper and pen to take notes, a phone (and battery) if needed, water bottle/coffee thermos, if desired. Travel: Regrets but SFASA does not provide advice regarding hotels or travel. Are CEUs offered? No. This event is primarily aimed at the informational needs of parents and caregivers, not professionals. Are scholarships available? We regret no more scholarships remain. Comments or questions? Please email us at info@sfautismsociety.org. We regret that tickets are sold out. NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR. NO WALK-IN REGISTRATION. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Thank you.
